Summer is finally over, and cooler temperatures are finally on their way. Australians love this time of year for getting work done outside in their gardens. The cold, solid ground of winter has yet to arrive, but the super hot days of summer have gone, so it is the perfect time to do some tree maintenance. When you have a badly damaged tree in your garden that bore the brunt of the recent round of summer storms, autumn is the perfect time to have it removed, and there are three good reasons why.
Fewer leaves mean less mess
A tree which has been damaged by summer storms is a liability as you do not want it falling on top of the house when future storms roll through. The storm damage to the tree combined with the fact autumn is a time when trees slow down their growth cycle means that removing a tree at this time is less messy. While the tree is being removed, there are fewer leaves on it to fly around and fill up your gutters and block up your drains. This lack of foliage means you are not left with a large amount of tidying up after the tree has gone.
Tree insects are hibernating
Tree leaf growth is not the only thing which slows down once the temperatures start to drop. Both tree diseases and insect movement become slower as it cools. The slowdown is beneficial to you because you can take down a tree without concern that disease or insects will spread rapidly to your remaining healthy trees.
Autumn is a great time to replant
The final reason why autumn works well for tree removal is that this season is ideal for planting replacement trees after the removal of the dead one is complete. The searing heat of summer won't be back until the end of the year, and the buffeting winds and rainfall flooding of the summer storms are also behind us. The lack of damaging conditions means new trees planted now have close to a year to get themselves established and growing nicely before summer comes back again.
As you can see, now is the perfect time to contact your local tree service for tree removal and stump grinding. There is plenty of time between now and next summer to get replacement trees planted, and that means you'll have safer trees giving you lots of shade once the temperature starts to rise again.

Hey! I'm Keith. Are you looking for tree removal advice? If so you have come to the right place. Last year, I needed some advice about how best to deal with the trees in my yard. One of the trees had started to lean and I was very worried about it. In order to deal with the problem, I called in a professional tree service and asked them to take a look at it. The contractor wasted no time and quickly removed the tree. I was really pleased with the level of service I received and I would like to encourage others to contact their local tree service.
